Maestro IQ™
Maestro IQ™ is a collection of management functions that automate many routine tasks associated with managing network file storage. Maestro IQ™ includes capacity management, performance management, and an ILM Manager for tiered storage management. User-defined and system thresholds are automatically and continuously monitored and compared against event policies. The triggering of an event drives specified recommendations and actions.


    Capacity Manager
  • Allows single-command re-balancing of file data across multiple network file volumes
  • Monitors soft and hard capacity limits
  • Accepts “recommendations” to automatically correct capacity problems
    • Performance Manager
  • Automatically finds problem areas that cause hotspots and overall slowdowns
  • Describes specific problems found - facilitates problem resolution
    • ILM Manager
  • Searches for files based on specified file attributes and access patterns
  • Accepts Maestro IQ™ search results to automate a desired action (move to another storage tier, delete, stripe, mirror, stripe and mirror, remove mirror, etc.)
  • Actions can be specific to an individual file or file type without changing the file pathname, and without moving the entire directory or volume in which the file(s) is contained
